Family Time....

It is so nice to just hang out together. Master T is still asleep. Miss T has taken Ginger for a walk, the Silver Fox is cleaning up. Me? Need to vacuum but don't want to wake Master T just yet. Good excuse? Thought so too. Might just tidy, wash etc. I spent last night laughing at our silly puppy. She goes a bit hyperactive at times.

No plans for new year as yet. I kind of like it that way. Might just be us and the kids, maybe playing board games and eating a nice meal. Maybe one that doesn't involve ham.

What are you doing for NYE? Do you make resolutions?

Aaah, this is the life. Well, it's not me but this is what we are doing. Beach, walk, relax, bike ride, relax, sleep in... did I say relax?

Ginger is settling in very well, kids are very attentive still (well, it has been a week), family visiting, left overs galore.

Merry Christmas To All...

Might sign off now for a while this Christmas Eve. Have people arriving for the next few days, cars to pick up, prawns to buy and a Teenie bike to pick up. It is wonderful having the Silver Fox at home. It is like he hasn't been away really but that little hole in my heart is fixed again with him being here.

Welcome Little One...

Miss Ginger Sass

It all went according to plan. We picked the Silver Fox up and boot-scooted off to the cargo building. The kiddies had no idea as we said we were picking up, well, cargo. Simple but effective. When we walked in the man said "are you here for the puppy? She is really cute" Miss T just jumped around like a mad thing. Master T kept saying how he couldn't believe it. Introducing Miss Ginger Sass, Poodle/Cavalier cross. And gorgeous.....

Big Day...

Today is a very big day for our little family. The Silver Fox arrives home for good (so far) to a glorious 4 weeks of holidays. AND....... we pick up our newest family member right after he arrives!!!! Hooray!! Best get that camera ready for those surprised little faces...

Things I Know...

Kite Festival at Kirra - Gorgeous

 Well, it has been a big year for us in this little household and it is a time for reflection, I think anyway. Here are some of my thoughts and observations:

---The Silver Fox and I often talk for 1 hour on the phone each night. New for us but it sort of morphed this way out of necessity. In some ways we are closer than before, even though we are further apart, if you get me

---I officially have the job at the TAFE. I am a casual teacher and I may work frequently or infrequently. That is the way it is so I won't give up my day job just yet

---I finished my health challenge at the gym - 12 glorious fun filled action packed weeks. Guess what? I won the overall female champion. Yay! I won 2 nights at a Peppers Resort for 2 and have until October 2012 to use it. No worries. I also won the best increase in strength overall and the challenge of going to extra classes for I month. That prize was a voucher at a restaurant. Nice huh? I have enjoyed it so very much and made a deal with myself to do exercise every day at 6 am. So far so good. Maybe the endorphins have finally kicked in!

---SF and I are very excited at getting a puppy and know the kiddies will go insane with glee. We will pick her up on Wednesday after we pick up the Silver Fox from the airport. The SF is back for good, hopefully, and on holidays for 1 month

---My gorgeous children both did very well in their report cards. Yay!

---I have finally cancelled Austar after 3 attempts as they kept giving me great discounts. We were down to paying $11 per week for most channels except sports and movies. It was very hard to cancel and they wanted a reason. It was originally a present for the SF from my family for 1 year. They wouldn't accept this as a reason so I told them it was destroying my family life. Not far from the truth really when I had to drag Master T off nearly every day. I think a little 4 legged friend will more than distract the family now

---I have really enjoyed being part of the blogging world and have admiration and respect for so many of you wonderful, talented, honest, funny, deep and sharing people.

Home Again...

Well, I'm home after my grand adventure with the Silver Fox - just the two of us. Teenie/Tweenie  survived very well without me. I might even go as far to say my return cramped their style a bit. Makes me happy that because it means I can confidently leave them again. Haha! I would have posted before but seemed to have 'lost' all my photos on the computer and today they have magically appeared.

Townsville was hot as. Humid. And very beautiful. Wish I had gone earlier really and taken the kiddies up for school holidays and not let the fact that I had no holidays owing or any one to cover me put me off taking the plunge.  It was lovely to meet all the Silver Fox' friends and to see him joking around in a male environment with his buddies. And he l-o-v-e-d the new me! I didn't need a flower after all but he was very impressed!

Worry Not...

I'm good at this worry-business. Calm on the outside but fretting on the inside. Apparently. Took me a long time to realise it and to consciously manage myself. For me exercise helps and now I have made an agreement with myself to go 6 times per week, I spend my energy wisely instead.

What about you? Are you prone to being a worrier? Gets you nowhere does it? Except zap your strength just as Mary Engelbriet says.

She is wise that Mary.

Adventure...

Today I'm jetting off today to see the Silver Fox and spending 2 glorious fun filled action packed days with just the two of us. Up to where he was been working for the past 9 months. His work has invited me to his Christmas party so I will frock up and have a jolly good time. The Teenie/Tweenie are spending the time with friends so will hardly notice I am gone.

I told him I was going to be wearing a flower so he can recognize me when I hop off that plane. I have worked very hard at my fitness challenge and dropped a dress size. Today is the last day of the Challenge and I am missing out on the party and awards. Never mind. As one of the instructors always says "you are only competing against yourself" and I know I have done the best I can.

Have a lovely weekend folks. I will take a photo or two. Apparently it is very hot and sticky up there with temperatures around 35 degrees C. Perfect for an island adventure I think....

Secret So Shhh...

 Guess what? I have bought us a puppy for Christmas. In my usual shopping fashion I wanted one thing but bought another (here). This time I wanted an IPhone but look what it turned into?

My new "IPhone" Might call her "Apple"

 A Cavoodle!! The kids are going to be b-e-s-i-d-e themselves with joy. It is time we had a dog and here she is! I think she will help to get us all sorted back into family mode when the Silver Fox returns. She won't be very big (33cm tall) and will be an inside dog most of the time. The joy of no carpets...

Can't wait to see their faces....

I am in to positive affirmations and this is one. Quite relevant these days I think. Miss T loves to blend in with all her friends dressing the same and definitely not being original. But. Hopefully she will learn. Learn to shine, learn to stand on her own two feet and have the courage to be who she is.

Interesting Week...

Hi All

It's my birthday today and I have had my last physical assessment for my Health Challenge. Yay! I was able to cut down my 2.5 km run time by a huge 4 minutes over the 12 weeks. Stoked just for that! Also stoked that I am getting competitive too! Finally!

Had breakfast with my Challenge pals and then home to a zillion phone calls and emails. Lovely. The Silver Fox is still away but I am going up to Far North Queensland next week for 2 nights for his work Christmas party sans children. Very excited to say the least! Not just because the kids aren't coming but 2 nights with my man. Bliss!

You know how I had my job interview this week? Well, I got an email saying that "even though recruitment has not as yet been finalized, please come to a meet and greet meeting next week". Hmmm, something tells me....I'M IN! Yay! How darn exciting is that?

The Silver Fox will be back for good just before Christmas so it looks like 2012 will holds some good stuff.

Have a lovely weekend everyone, I'm off to whip up a lasagna for a neighbourhood Christmas party. Might even open a bottle of champagne to celebrate....
