Deja Vu...

Image

The Silver Fox is going away again for work. To the same place as before and staying with the same people. I am glad for this as there was talk he needed to be sent to Mt Isa and although I am sure it is a lovely place, at least with Townsville he will have an established friend base AND he will take his fishing rod.

Master T is quite gutted as him and his Dad ride BMX twice per week. It's their t-h-a-n-g! I'm pretty gutted too as we have danced this dance before and although survived, have not thrived. I think the children and I will go up more. Maybe for the whole of the school holidays in October. Maybe for Christmas. Lots of maybes...

So, (big sigh) it is just the way it has to be for now. Hopefully it won't be for 9 months like last time. We might have to consider moving if it is to go on and on and on. We are afterall, a package deal.

He leaves next week so not long to get used to the idea.

So much to do before hand...

Ciao for now...

Fruit Salad...

I just put a book back into Master T's school bag and what did I find???

5 apples, 2 mandarins and 2 slices of capsicum!!!! All rolling around the bottom of his bag.

I had just finished making arrangements with both children to pick them up after school and drop into the local old--style cafe for a milkshake and cake before going to purchase 2 pairs of much needed school tracksuit pants.

How can I buy treat food when a certain Master T won't eat his everyday food? His healthy food?

His answer when I asked him? "You give me way too much"

"I give you 2 pieces per day"

If he was clever he would just throw them away and I would be none the wiser. He needs to get a bit more street smart. I used to escape from home when I was 5 and leave the door agar just a little so my Mum wouldn't hear the "click". I would them run a block to my Granny's house and say "I've come for lunch". She would ask if my Mum knew and I would always say yes. After sitting me down to some tomato soup she would them ring and say I was there. I remember she had the most glorious crockery with divine soup bowls.

Anyhow, I digress

Now that means no treat this afternoon on principle

Consequences my friend. Consequences. Guess he needs to learn the hard way.

ciao for now

Sleeping In...

I l-o-v-e the weekends. Saturday is a day busy with chores, exercise, family and breakfast with friends. Sunday is a sleep in, sometimes until 9am, then usually a walk with the pooch. Family day. I love it. The Teenies don't, they would rather be on computers or with their friends but I stand firm. No computers, just us. Together. Hopefully they will appreciate these days one day. One day

On Saturday I usually take my Mum out from the nursing home for a few hours. She has been there 6 months now and is some 16 kg lighter. She looks good. She enjoys where she is and has some lovely friends. She still remembers me because I see her so regularly. My Dad doesn't see her because she is a tad snitchy with him and introduces him as "this is Peter the b*st$#d". More than a tad snitchy really. Breaks his heart and unsettles her for quite a period of time after. Sad business this dementia. It steals so much from families. My brother also gets a run for his money, probably because he looks like my Dad.

On Saturday night when The Silver Fox and Master T are out bike riding, I take My Dad out to dinner. We try different restaurants each time. I need to time it right to drop Miss T off at work and pick her up but usually it works out just fine. Dad and I get lots of "looks" at times as I'm sure people think we are a couple. We can tell with the long up and down looks and the whispers. How presumptuous! We just ignore them. My poor Dad is still wracked with guilt about my Mum and is also terribly lonely too. He is in the process of selling his 3 bedroom unit and moving in to a sort of retirement village. My sister and brother and I are coming to him next week to sort out clothes, furniture, do charity-drops and tip- runs. We will probably all go to dinner as the 4 of us. I can't wait.

So for me weekends are precious, surrounded by family

What do you love about weekends?

just Togetherness...

Image

It is an overcast, rainy day here today. Public holiday for us so the day off to just hang out. Movie in bed to start the day. The Silver Fox and I detailed 2 of our cars and bought exciting things like wiper blades, oil and a new car battery. He knows how to show a girl a good time.

Him and I and the dog did go out for Subway and sat in the car overlooking the ocean. Master T was at a friends and Miss T was catching up on some much need sleep as she has been busy all weekend.

I like days like these. Catching up on little things. I still managed to go the washing, clean the kitchen etc. As you do. At the moment the Silver Fox is cleaning the garage and power washing the floor.

I think it will be steak and veges for dinner. Master T can have left over pasta as a good steak is wasted on him. Best get started and make some school lunches too. Then back to the grindstone tomorrow.

Why do the weekends go so quickly?....

 Ciao for now...
