Say Hi to High School...

Her very 1st day of Primary School

The 1st day of a new Primary School
A gift to mark the occasion!...
Getting ready for her 1st day of High School

Miss T is entering into a new stage of her life... High School. Some wise Mummies have told me that she will not be the same girl who comes home after the first day. She will be forever changed. Well. So be it. The Silver Fox and I know the ride might be rocky at times as she enters 'teenage-hood'. We are prepared, to hang on, white-knuckled if necessary as the roller coaster ride continues! She is a heavenly girl and we are so very proud of her. She has no inkling of what path in life she would like to take but she is an absolute whizz with children so who knows if this will influence her direction. We don't expect her to be perfect, just to do her best.

People keep asking her if she is nervous. I think it is making her nervous that people keep asking! We haven't brought her up to be a worrier. We don't harp on about stuff. It is what it is and you just get on with it. She has always been a lateral thinker with a great sense of humour. We know how lucky we are.... AND she is very happy because now she has a phone! More for our peace of mind when we try to coordinate 3 buses from school and pick up!!!

Go and start a new adventure. Good luck sweet girl. We love you.

Ciao for now

just Martha

  1. That bracelet is lovely! I really love looking at the photos on my blogging friends' blogs, and these are cute. There's a whole new world out there. Hopefully she will make new friends as well as keeping old ones. I wish her well in her new adventure!

  3. Such a great attitude! She sounds like a lovely girl. I've watched my two stepdaughters and my two nieces go through highschool (2 are still there) and it's been a learning experience. My youngest stepdaughter found Year 7/8 a little difficult as primary school friendships changed and new groups were formed. She found it a little difficult to keep up but she's absolutely fine now and about to start Year 9. They've all really enjoyed highschool overall and I'm sure your daughter will too. It is true what they say about the effect puberty has on girls - hang on! I've found really honest heart to hearts and thinking ahead can solve most things! Rachaelxx

  4. You go girls!

I love the smile on your youngest's face - so full of excitement and anticipation for all that school will hold.

We sent our Middle Sized Gift off to high school last week and she is having an absolute ball - she has changed a little and its for the better!

I hope that your big girls enjoy their first week back as much as the littlest looks like she will.

    Felicity x

PS How clever are you scoring that lovely bracelet?

  5. Love the gift idea, brilliant. Yes, we're a fresh high school family too, it's exciting but she's not nervous or negative or turning on me, she's embracing the experience. I loved high school so i don't have any negatives vibes from my own experience, i am so excited for her!! It's a big deal, a huge private girls school in the city with 200 in her year, far cry from her tiny primary school of 270 students in total. We start next Monday, so still time to consider hemming her enormous size 5 dress, yes, 5, smallest we could find for her petit build!! Love Posie

  9. I love your parenting style . . . saying lovely things about your kids, having united front with Silver Fox, honoring your kids moments with gifts etc. Good work, mom. We enjoyed most of the teenage years.

    And, I love your kitchen.

    Fondly,
