Manners Please....

I have spend some time this school holidays with my gorgeous children's friends and you know what? I have noticed something. I have noticed that my children are very polite. And they talk to adults. This is the case whether it be on the phone or in person. They always say hello and have a little chat. And, they contribute to conversations. Miss T gives her friends's Mums hugs and they really like it. It comes naturally to her and conversations comes naturally to both of them. Not sure where they get it from to make them stand out from their peers, in my eyes. We do nothing special but I do insist on manners. You know, say 'hello' and 'goodbye' and 'thank you'... That sort of thing. I dislike bad manners. I am a stickler and have been known to insist upon occasion. Ask my children. If they won't eat properly at the dinner table, it is off to the garage for them. True. Ask them.

Master T is a hit with the Mummies too because he is always up for chat. I think he has the 'Nonna-Gene', an inherited tendency to talk. He is also quite observant and will compliment ladies on their new hair-do's or clothes. A bit too observant at times. 'Mum is that a new pair of shoes?' 'no son, my is that the time?'

So, I chatted to Miss T about this tonight, and she agreed! She thinks she has nice manners compared to some of her friends and thought they were rude to their parents at times.

Well, there you go....

Ciao for now......

  2. I couldn't agree with you more about the importance of manners, in adults as well as the children! Master & Miss T sound as if they are an absolute credit to you. I love children like that.
