Neighbourhood Stroll...

This one needs a few more rocks I think...

See this feature next to the letterbox? A gabion wall. I l-o-v-e these as a feature, enclosing rocks in wire to make a something functional. This one is from a neighbour's house and is purely for decoration but they do get bigger and can be quite useful as well as attractive.

Here is another made into a wall.

'You're Terrible Mural...'

(Sorry, couldn't help it. One of my favourite movies is 'Muriel's Wedding' with our darling Toni Collette when she was just starting out and this was line from the movie spoken frequently by Muriel's sister which I have adapted slightly for the post....)

This is a house from our neighbourhood with quite a large mural on the wall depicting 'white caps' and horses galloping through the waves. Not my cup of tea but very striking all the same. There is another house with something similar by the same artist. I will try for a quick photo, secretly another time. I've taken this as I am whizzing by on my bike. Pretty good for an action shot really. If you look r-e-a-l-l-y closely at this photo you can see someone in the kitchen looking at me. Sprung!!!

Neighbourhood Stroll...

Out having the same walk, and saw this little gem. Someones holiday home. Grass driveway and see that pop of orange? That is a chain taking the water from the gutter to the ground so it doesn't sound like a waterfall. Making a statement in this otherwise basic mix. What do you think?...
