Girl time...

Image

My boys are spending every Saturday at an indoor skate park for hours and hours and hours. So my gorgeous daughter teenager and I took the opportunity to have a girl's day and go shopping taking full advantage of the sales.

Miss T is growing like a weed and was in need of some clothes so we traipsed for shop to shop to shop so she could spend her money and take full advantage of spending wisely. She is a good little shopper my Miss T. She managed to find tops for $7.50, $5.00 and $15.00. She got a pair of jeans for $20 and they look fantastic on her.

It was lovely to walk around with her so tall and gorgeous. And mine. I saw much that would have looked lovely on her but she declined my suggestions as "too mainstream". Okay then. Do I take it that she doesn't wish to look like everyone else? When she was little she used to put on a t-shirt, pull a skirt up to her chest, cinch with a belt and off she would go. Style. Even as a 4 year old.

I appreciate these times as when I look back on photos she always looks so young yet I don't remember her at the time being little. Do you ever do that? She is 14 now and keen for a part time job to earn some money. Teenage-hood has been a little crazy but even when she is snitchy and scathing, I a-d-o-r-e her!!

Ciao for now

just Shopping...

Okay, okay I have started Christmas shopping. I'm not writing to boast. It's just that who can resist a gorgeous Marley and Lockyer parcel when it arrives? Especially when it looks like this!
Ordered straight from her Etsy shop. Bliss!!

I am going to turn these into Christmas decorations for my friends with a little ribbon and another small gift.... maybe a Crabtree and Evelyn something.....

The owl might not make it out of the house

I'm just saying....

Then There were Two...

Image

Master T is off to camp today for a few days so that just leaves Miss Teenie and I. I have planned a bit of Thai takeaway and a movie tonight and tomorrow she wants to do a bit of clothes shopping. she has organised to meet 3 friends and 'all the Mothers can have dinner together'. Sounds great as I l-o-v-e all the friend's's Mothers. Great bunch of gals. But. It won't work that way.

Why?

Because my plan is to give Miss T a certain amount of money and she can go off and spend it wisely. There is the problem. She won't be able to decide on what to buy/ what looks good/ needs more money. I know her. She took a drink bottle back once that she bought at Smiggle. Buyers Remorse big time. Despite doing her homework, cost effectiveness studies and the like. She can't make a decision. God love her. I wonder is it because I used to make all her decisions or that she just gets overwhelmed at the finality of a purchase?

Don't know

But....

One of my big time hobbies when I was really poor was to buy items from Myers. And take them back. Then buy something else. Then take it back. Not sure why. Spending the same money over and over? Buyers remorse? I lived in fear of being black-listed. Miss T was but a baby when this was my hobby. she couldn't possibly have known...

Hmmmm. Maybe there is more to this business of inherited traits that meets they eye. Maybe it goes further than blonde hair and blue eyes (which Miss T has a-n-d I will point out, neither her Dad nor myself do). Maybe there is something deeper.

Can one inherit shopping styles??

Will let you know how we go......
