Clever Silver Fox!

Spa in ensuite  Note: Plant is still alive! No flowers yet
I have a clever Silver Fox. I do appreciate him. He is very handy. Very clever. Now the Silver Fox built our house and did a marvelous job. Although he was still running his business at the time so life was a bit busy, hectic, crazy... you get the picture. He was so exhausted but built it to perfection. He does like straight walls and nice finishes! No 'wombas here' (wobbly walls).  We designed the house with the environment in mind. Bedrooms on the east to receive the morning sunshine, bathrooms on the west to take the brunt of the afternoon heat - no cold moldy bathrooms here!! Facing the right way to get the breezes... and so on. Water tank, recycled water for the toilet. High ceilings, in fact very high to give the impression of space and airy-ness. Big windows for light, small windows for breeze, big bedrooms for the ever-changing needs of the Tweenies. Built-in cupboards everywhere and I mean everywhere. Favourite room? My 'Good Room' is the one for me.  Included are some photos of our house...

There were things he really wanted and things I really wanted, so some things were a non-issue and some things were negotiated. He can pick colours in about 5 minutes!! He is a dream like that. Tiles, kitchen benches, paint colours... done and perfect. He chose the doors and they are throughout the house as a sort of warehouse look. I think they are 7 foot and add to the feeling of space in the house. Some slide like the one below and the ones to the media room and bathrooms. Some shut as usual. We also have as spa which fits 4 very easily. This is good because as soon as the water is running it is full of children! No romance for us.  I will show more of the house in future posts and might even do one of those album- thingys when I learn how!!!.... Thank you Silver Fox for being sooooo clever!!!!

Door to garage. Quite tall. This one slides
My f-a-v-o-u-r-i-t-e item: a heated towel rail
Aaahhh, the symmetry. Windows are blue glass

Kitchen... nice and tidy for photo
Pool and water feature with raised hedged gardens... Silver Fox!!
Bathroom children use
Looking out the front door
Looking down the side of the house . Silver Fox again
Art on my bedroom wall
My "Good Room" not really a room at all!. Just a corner
The "Up Room" Another sitting room upstairs

Guest bedroom looking through the mirror. The Librian will notice the cushions are asymmetrical. Sorry

Toolbox

Mine! Mine! Mine!
This is my toolbox. Mine. All mine. In here are all the tools, in one place. My tools. I bought them. No searching. No making-do. I have them all and I know where they are. They are in here. I watch the Silver Fox like a hawk if he uses MY toolbox to make sure he returns all the equipment. I 'do' jobs. Mainly hanging pictures. When I had VJs it was easier. Plasterboard is a bit harder to get right. A girl needs a tool box. Even if it is just to get the job started. Nothing strikes fear into the Silver Fox's heart more than me going to do a 'job',  toolbox in hand. Somehow he takes over and the job is done!!!! He has no idea................ Putty in my hands..........

Darn It

I have bought a new plant. Actually it is my first plant in many years inside. Hmmmmm, why is that I wonder? Am I a black thumb? No. I just had children who ate e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g! So, plants were out. They ate the plants and the dirt. Dirt is very tasty to any child of mine. Oh look, I'm happy for the immune system to be boosted people, it is just that they really did eat everything. Poisons Information knew us by name (felt like it) 'My child has just drunk Shower Power', 'My child has drunk Enjo Calcium stuff '...... Heck, i was always fishing something out from those pairs of jabber jaws!!! AND,  a lot of plants are poisonous, especially to the under 3 year olds who tend to be the age group to put stuff in their mouths. When Tweenie Girl was starting Pre-School (4years old) the garden, although beautiful as it was, was filled with poisonous plants. The plants produced berries and it was at this stage that they became poisonous (Fall out from one of Silver Fox's many careers - Landscaper Stage). So, I might just have happened to mention this to the teachers as a 'you know those plants are kind of poisonous don't you?.....' sort of question...... within earshot of the Principal (unknown to me at that time). They did a bit of research themselves and....... whoosh-ka. G-o-n-e!!! All plants ripped out and taken away. My, was I popular!!!!! I did get Silver Fox to donate some plants for the replanting but the Teacher's-Aid  who had worked there for many years never really warmed to me!! Ever!! I think she tended the garden........ Ooopsi!!

So, it is only now that I feel comfortable to delve into the world of indoor plants like this one above. Which is poisonous. But, at 12 and 10 years old hopefully the Tweenies will have a healthy respect for the real world. Hopefully. But tragedy has already struck!!! My plant had one flower. I say had because as I bent down to admire it and check the soil, my necklace got caught in it and as I stood up........... R-I-P............... G-O-N-E!!!!!.............. Maybe my luck hasn't really changed. Best go and find poison's Information's number now to keep handy just in case.....
